We've added a new Custom Field type, Select Fields!

So it might seem a bit mundane this one, but there's actually more to it than meets the eye and we reckon it's going to be a very handy feature for a lot of people.

When you create a new account on transpond, you will find that the only data field created automatically against a subscriber is "Email Address". If you want to add other data like a FIrst Name, a Country, a Gender or anything else, you need to create Custom Fields.

So far so good right?

But what about if you want to create a custom field for say "Country"? You could just add the field as a TEXT field and let people enter anything they want. The problem is, some people might say they are from "United Kingdom" others might type "UK", and others might just make a type or something else.

So we need to keep our data accurate and the same throughout, and this is where our new "SELECT" field type comes in.

You can create a "SELECT" field and then define the values that are acceptable in this field. 
Then, wherever the field is used, for example when adding a new subscriber, or if a subscriber fills in a Form, the only values they can select from are the values you entered.

Perfect right?

Well yes, but what about if you have LOTS of values. Our country example is a good one here. You don't want to have to manually add every single country, it would take hours.
So we have also put together a very quick and easy "Bulk Import" option just for custom field data. You can simply copy and paste values all in one go and we will sort them out, or you can copy and paste a couple of columns straight from Excel and that will work too.
