Buying a product in the store for $0.99 doesn't require much of an experience, your not spending a lot to obtain a lot but what if the product was $199 and you are buying it online?

The whole landscape completely changes when you go from buying from your local store to buying online. It's far harder to offer a unique experience, there's the lack of smell and the lack of human interaction. There is a lot to be said about how a human can talk with genuine emotion, bring persuasive techniques into the selling process and use elements of charm and laughter to aid even further.

When thinking about selling a $199 item online, what experiences can you bring to the buyer that envoke the same emotions as if they were in a store? How about an authentic welcome message, a chat function to support them if they have questions, gentle persuasive messaging based on real value, a call to action to buy that's safe and feels secure, these all add up to create a great experience and it's this experience that makes the potential buyer feel comfortable with making the purchase.

So focus on the experience you are giving, focus on the customer's journey and learn to use the experience as a way of selling.
