"Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean."– Ryunosuke Satoro
Collaboration and integration is key when it comes to business and that’s equally true with your marketing tools. Instead of each platform trying to compete with each other, it is vital to acknowledge the strengths of each platform whilst understanding how they can team up with the other platforms to make marketing work better for you and your business. Below we will be looking at ways in which different marketing channels can work together to make your email marketing more effective.
Telemarketing
Once you have sent out an email to your database, what do you usually do next? Do you leave it? Send a reminder email? We all know what it is like to sift through loads of emails while you’re sat at your desk.
However, if you were to use telemarketing to follow up unanswered emails, this will be more effective. You could phone your prospect to ask if they got the email ok, if they have any questions or if they would like help with anything. This extra effort will show your audience how much you are willing to put into the working relationship and requires less effort on their part to initiate. Show them that you really do care, and that they are not just another ‘follow up’ call.
If your CRM is integrated with your phone system, you will also be able to make notes against the client and keep track of your interactions and ensure your communications are relevant and appropriate.

Social Media
Have you considered integrating your email marketing strategy with your social media strategy?
The first thing to consider is installing or embedding an email sign up form on your social profiles (as well as your website). You will then have a tab permanently for people to be able to click on and fill in your sign-up form.
You can also create a social media post that invites people to sign up to your newsletter, enabling you to build your email lists easily and with legitimate consent. Remember to tell your social media audience all about the benefits of your newsletters - do you offer discounts via your newsletters? Or provide tips and support? Let them know and there’s a good chance that FOMO (fear of missing out) will compel them to sign up. This will grow your database enabling you to reach a wider audience with your email marketing.
Vice versa, you can also showcase your social media via your newsletters too. A great way to break up a bulky email newsletter, is by creating a section that directs readers to your social media with the familiar branded icons. This way, anyone that had signed up to your newsletter but wasn’t yet following your social media, now has an opportunity to do so, supporting your social media strategy.
Training Session Conversions
If you are running training sessions, webinars, or presentations, you may want to consider increasing your conversions by getting in touch with participants again before the event, and aiding retention by getting in touch with them after. Both contact opportunities can be done via email marketing.
If you are launching a new course or webinar, you could include a sentence and link to the launch page at the bottom of your newsletters so that those interested are able to sign up quickly. By getting your audience signed up to your newsletters first, you will be able to offer them valuable advice and tips for free, before encouraging them to further the conversation with a link to sign up and pay for your new webinar, training or course. With helpful and engaging newsletter content and a compelling call to action, there’s a far greater chance you can convert those leads into sales.
You shouldn’t stop after the webinar has taken place- get in touch with your participants after the event or course has finished to ask what they thought of it, gain feedback and keep them engaged with future contact to ensure they are aware of future purchases or courses.

eCommerce
Do you have an online store? Email marketing can seamlessly be integrated with many ecommerce platforms to enable you to really delve into your customer’s buying behaviour and match your products and services to their behaviours.
You can use the cross-platform opportunity to target promotions and special offers. When you have a complete picture of what your audience is buying, you can create specific segments to target those you know would be interested, rather than your whole list. You can also send birthday offers or ask for feedback on purchases. When integrating your eCommerce platform with your email marketing, there is a wide range of opportunities to engage and retain customers.
We hope that these tips have helped open your eyes to how powerful email marketing can become once it has integrated with other marketing channels. Your newsletter may be one drop, but with the collaboration of other marketing channels, you can make a ripple in the ocean and keep your business in the front of your customer’s mind.
