Nice work! You've written a genuinely useful guide. The bit you haven't done yet is build a page that actually gets people to download it.

That's the part that trips people up. A gated download needs to do two jobs at once: convince someone your guide is worth their email address, and make grabbing it feel instant. Getting both right on a blank page, on top of everything else on your plate, is easy to keep putting off.

Transpond's landing page builder comes with a template built for exactly this job. Pick the ebook download template, swap in your own guide, and you've got a page live in a fraction of the time.

What's in the ebook download template

Click the template, and you’ll find a pre-populated landing page: most of the thinking is already done for you. Here's what's on the page:

A clear title that sells the guide

Lead with the outcome, not the format. "A practical playbook for sustainable growth" sells more than "our new ebook." Add a couple of lines describing what's actually inside.

A checklist of key takeaways

A few short, concrete bullet points on what the guide covers. This works better than a long description: it lets your visitor skim and quickly determine if it's relevant to them.

The download form

The download form is where you collect the details that matter. Email address is the one must-have — it’s how you’ll send the guide, and it’s what connects a new submission to a contact record in Transpond. Beyond that, it’s worth keeping it light. A name field is a nice addition if you want to personalise your follow-up, but it’s optional.

For a particularly high-value guide, you could ask for a business name or company size — useful for segmentation — but think carefully before adding anything beyond the basics. Every extra field is a small reason for someone to abandon the form before they hit download. When in doubt, less is more.

A cover image of your guide

Your visitors clicked into this landing page because they’re interested, but adding an image of the cover - or even peak previews of whats inside - gives visitors enough of a preview to trust there's real substance behind the download, without giving the whole thing away. Remember, they’re handing over personal information like their email address, so they want to be sure it’s worth their while.

Social proof: a testimonial and a stat

One quote from someone who's read the guide and found it useful, ideally with their name and company for credibility. A specific line about what the guide helped them do beats a generic compliment. You can add more: pair it with a download count or star rating to illustrate how many of their peers found your guide worth their time.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a quote or downloads to show off just yet. You can still pull in company ratings or reviews, or ask someone in your network for a quote to endorse your knowledge, skills, innovation, or thought leadership.

Our template, your styling

Once you've picked the template, you can tailor it so it matches your existing website. If you want to go further and really make your ebook campaign a bigger entity of its own, your landing page could follow the same design as the PDF.

Set your brand colors and fonts once through global styling, and they carry across every element automatically: headline, paragraphs, backgrounds – all of it.

Swap in your own cover image and pull photos from your uploads. You can even pull decorative images and stock photos from the Unsplash library found in the image uploader. However much work went into the guide, the page announcing it shouldn't take anywhere near as long.

Save it once, use it everywhere

If this isn't your only guide, it's worth building blocks you won't need to restyle every time you launch a new one. Get that checklist looking right (spacing, icon, font size) and save it to your library. The next guide gets the same clean layout without you touching a single margin twice.

The same goes for the social proof block. You could swap in a new quote and stat for each guide, but keep the exact styling you already nailed the first time.

Why not just use a page on your website?

If you’ve already put in the effort (or money) creating an email campaign or setting up paid ads, you want the people who click through to your landing page to convert - in this case, to download your ebook.

A normal web page comes with a full menu, other pages to browse, and a footer full of distractions. Any of that gives a visitor a reason to wander off before they've handed over their email.

A landing page skips all of it. It has one job: getting the download started. Fewer links, fewer distractions, and every line of copy pointing at that one action.
