While MailerLite can get you started, what happens when your marketing outgrows your email platform?

The platform’s June 2026 Free plan update lowered the allowance to 250 subscribers and 2,500 monthly emails, while growing teams may need tighter CRM integration and more connected marketing workflows.

Transpond is our top MailerLite alternative for businesses ready to bring more of their marketing together. It combines email marketing with automations, CRM integrations, forms, website tracking and reporting. Agencies can also use white-label branding and manage client accounts from one platform.

When should you migrate from MailerLite?

A smaller free allowance doesn’t automatically justify a migration. MailerLite’s paid plans still provide a capable email marketing setup, and moving platforms creates work of its own.

Switching becomes more interesting when MailerLite no longer fits how your marketing operates.

#1 Your email platform and CRM are becoming disconnected

Manual imports are manageable when email campaigns use a simple mailing list.

The process gets harder once targeting depends on customer information held in a CRM. Marketing shouldn’t have to create another CSV just because the CRM has changed. Campaign lists should reflect the latest contact and pipeline data automatically.

Transpond supports this kind of CRM-connected workflow. Our Pipedrive integration can sync contacts into Transpond and send email engagement activity back to Pipedrive. HubSpot users can also sync contacts into Transpond for campaigns and Automations.

If your team is relying more heavily on CRM data for targeting and segmentation, our guide to CRM-connected email marketing for agencies explains how to run these workflows without relying on repeated manual exports.

#2 You keep rebuilding recurring campaign work

Running more campaigns shouldn’t mean repeating the same setup work every time. If your team keeps going back to lists, follow-up sequences, or reporting just to keep things moving, the platform itself may be creating unnecessary work.

A better fit is one that automates more of that routine and lets the team spend less time maintaining the process.

We combine campaigns with Automations and Custom Reports, so recurring email programs don’t need to be rebuilt from scratch every time. If you’re still getting comfortable with automated journeys, our guide to building your first marketing automation in Transpond covers the setup step by step.

#3 The new MailerLite Free limits are too small

MailerLite reduced its Free allowance from 500 to 250 active subscribers in June 2026. Monthly sending dropped from 12,000 to 2,500 emails. Free accounts can currently run up to three automations, three forms and one landing page.

If free capacity is the only problem, moving to a more sophisticated marketing platform may be unnecessary. Kit gives free users up to 10,000 subscribers, while EmailOctopus allows 2,500 subscribers and 10,000 monthly emails. Both deserve a look when audience size is the main reason for switching.

Transpond becomes more relevant when the problem goes beyond subscriber limits. If you also want stronger automation, closer CRM integration, or a platform that can support a more developed email marketing setup as your needs grow, it may make more sense to compare the wider workflow rather than choose purely on free-plan capacity.

#4 Your marketing operation has outgrown a standalone email setup

Of course, MailerLite also offers integrations and automation. The bigger question is whether its structure still matches the way your team works. An agency may need reusable workflows and client separation, while a sales-led company might want campaign engagement to sit closer to its CRM.

At this stage, compare platforms around the work your team performs every week instead of searching for the closest MailerLite clone.

Best MailerLite alternatives for 2026/2027

1. Transpond: our top MailerLite alternative

We built Transpond for email marketing and automation connected with customer data and workflows around them.

You can create campaigns and Automations, collect leads through forms, track website activity and analyze campaign performance from the same platform. Our integrations connect Transpond with CRMs including Pipedrive and HubSpot, alongside ecommerce and workflow tools.

In our opinion, the CRM connection is one of the strongest reasons to choose Transpond over MailerLite.

With Pipedrive, contacts can sync into Transpond automatically. Teams can decide which fields to import and which contacts should enter a Transpond Group. Marketing activity can also update Pipedrive records or create follow-up tasks for sales.

Email data no longer has to stay disconnected in a separate database and depend on manual updates.

Why we rank Transpond first

Transpond works well for teams that have moved beyond one-off newsletters and now manage email as an ongoing channel.

Automations can respond to customer activity, while website tracking adds another behavioral signal. Custom Reports let you review performance across several campaigns over a selected period.

The benefits become clearer when the same team is running campaigns for several clients. Our marketing automation for agencies guide shows how recurring campaign work can be organized at that scale. Agencies can also use white-label email marketing when they want clients to interact with the service under their own brand.

For teams trying to reduce the number of separate tools involved in delivery, we’ve also covered where consolidating an agency tool stack with Transpond can make sense.

There’s room to grow within the plans, too. Starter supports up to 25,000 active contacts and one Automation. Growth increases the allowance to 50,000 contacts and includes unlimited Automations, with higher limits available on Advanced and Ultimate.

MailerLite may still suit someone looking mainly for a lightweight newsletter platform and an editing experience they already know. We’d choose Transpond when email is becoming part of a broader workflow involving CRM data, recurring Automations or client campaign delivery.

Best for: businesses and agencies running ongoing email marketing around customer data already held elsewhere.

2. Brevo: best MailerLite alternative for send-volume pricing

Brevo structures its plans differently from MailerLite.

The Free plan can store up to 100,000 contacts and includes 300 email sends per day. Starter begins at $9 per month, while Standard starts at $18.

The large contact allowance can suit businesses with a sizeable database and relatively low sending frequency. The daily free-plan limit needs closer attention. A campaign sent to more than 300 recipients won’t reach the whole audience on the same day unless the account is upgraded. On top of that, unused daily sends don’t roll over.

Brevo also includes email and SMS campaigns in its wider communications platform, making it relevant for teams putting multiple channels under one vendor.

Choose Brevo if: contact storage and multichannel sending are higher priorities than MailerLite’s list-based setup.

3. Kit: best MailerLite alternative for creators

Kit is built much more specifically around creators and audience businesses.

Its Free plan supports up to 10,000 subscribers, unlimited email broadcasts and unlimited forms and landing pages. It also includes audience tagging, segmentation and tools for selling digital products or subscriptions.

The free allowance looks especially generous beside MailerLite’s current 250-subscriber limit. Automation changes the comparison. Visual Automations and email sequences require Kit’s paid Creator or Pro plans. A creator mainly concerned with growing a newsletter can therefore get a lot from Kit Free. A business comparing more involved automated journeys should look beyond the headline subscriber allowance.

Choose Kit if: the newsletter itself is part of a creator business built around an audience, digital products or subscriptions.

4. EmailOctopus: best free MailerLite alternative for straightforward email marketing

EmailOctopus is the most obvious alternative here when the free-plan reduction itself triggered your search.

Its Starter plan currently supports 2,500 subscribers and 10,000 emails per month. Free users can create up to three Automations, with a maximum of five steps in each one. Emails include EmailOctopus branding, and campaign reports remain available for 30 days.

EmailOctopus gives smaller newsletter programs more capacity than MailerLite Free while keeping the platform fairly focused. If the main job is sending regular campaigns, that simplicity may be more appealing than adopting a wider marketing system before the extra functionality is needed.

Its Pro plan starts at $9 per month on annual billing and removes EmailOctopus branding. It also expands landing pages, forms and user access.

Choose EmailOctopus if: you need more free sending capacity and your email operation remains relatively simple.

5. ActiveCampaign: best MailerLite alternative for deeper automation

ActiveCampaign sits closer to a full customer-journey automation platform.

Pricing currently starts at $15 for accounts with fewer than 1,000 contacts, and new users can test the Professional feature set during a 14-day trial.

As automation becomes more sophisticated, fixed sequences can become limiting. Behavioral triggers and branching journeys allow follow-up to respond to how customers interact with the product. In SaaS, that might mean changing trial emails based on what happens after signup.

The downside is operational. Somebody has to design those journeys, keep the conditions clean and check what happens when contacts take an unexpected path.

For a team that mainly sends newsletters and a few basic automations, ActiveCampaign can create more work than it removes.

Choose ActiveCampaign if: automation complexity is the main reason MailerLite no longer fits.

6. GetResponse: best MailerLite alternative for a broader marketing stack

GetResponse extends email marketing into a wider collection of lead-generation and conversion tools.

The Free account supports up to 500 contacts and 2,500 newsletters per month, along with one landing page and signup forms. Paid plans expand into marketing automation, sales funnels and webinars. GetResponse also offers web push and ecommerce-oriented functionality across its broader platform.

The wider stack gives GetResponse a different role from a lightweight newsletter tool.

Teams already using separate software for webinars or conversion funnels may see less benefit in consolidating those functions. Businesses wanting more of their marketing operation under one vendor may see the opposite.

Choose GetResponse if: you want email marketing surrounded by a wider set of acquisition and conversion tools.

Which MailerLite alternative should you choose?

Start with the problem you want the migration to solve.

  • If MailerLite’s smaller Free plan is the only issue, EmailOctopus or Kit may solve it with the least disruption.
  • Brevo deserves consideration when sending volume and additional communication channels drive the decision.
  • ActiveCampaign suits teams needing much deeper automation. GetResponse takes the broader-suite route.

But for businesses already connecting marketing with CRM data, we’d start with Transpond.

Our Pipedrive and HubSpot integrations give email a stronger connection to the customer journey than a standalone marketing database. Automations and multi-campaign reporting support the work around those contacts after the initial sync.

When you start comparing campaign results after migration, don’t rely on opens alone. Our email open rate benchmarks explain how privacy changes and tracking differences affect the number.

Moving from MailerLite to Transpond

Don’t migrate every asset simply because it exists in the old account.

Start with the contacts you still want to reach. Remove stale data before importing the list, then rebuild the campaigns and Automations still serving a purpose.

Transpond supports spreadsheet imports, copy-and-paste imports and automated contact syncing through integrations. CRM connections can keep the list current after the initial migration, reducing the need to repeat manual exports later.

Review your sending setup before the first live campaign too. A platform migration is a good moment to confirm authentication and make sure the new account reflects the way your marketing operates today.

Once the foundation is ready, the migration can become more than a software swap.

If MailerLite still fits the way you work, keeping it may be the easiest decision. If email now needs to work alongside CRM data, automations and ongoing client or customer journeys, we’ve built Transpond to support exactly that.

Try Transpond today and see how your current workflow would look in a more connected marketing setup.
